Description Rasmus Plewe 2006-03-13 14:58:31 UTC
Occasionally I get the error message from korganizer:

----
Could not rename partial file /var/tmp/kdecache-rplewe/slox/accounts_imap.suse.de.

Please check permissions.
----

> ll /var/tmp/kdecache-rplewe/slox/accounts_imap.suse.de
-rw-r--r-- 1 rplewe suse 85313 2006-03-13 15:43 /var/tmp/kdecache-rplewe/slox/accounts_imap.suse.de

Even removing the file does not prevent the message from appearing. The message, however, pops up very unfrequently, I was not able to spot a correlation with e.g. the "saves" intervall.
Comment 1 Stephan Kulow 2006-03-13 15:07:44 UTC
please attach a strace on your korganizer and wait for it to happen :)
Comment 2 Rasmus Plewe 2006-03-14 09:53:09 UTC
The strace output from
strace -f -i -s255 -o korganizer.trace korganizer
is in ~rplewe/Export/korganizer.trace. This morning I had three instances of the error window, so there should be at least some useful information in this 109MB strace file. Happy digging!
Comment 3 Stephan Kulow 2006-03-16 18:10:30 UTC
the strace doesn't show anything ;(

Actually, korganizer never changes the file. So some other process must do it - but I don't know too little about slox

Status?
Comment 5 Will Stephenson 2006-04-26 15:36:35 UTC
Slox bugs are all wontfixes now.
Comment 6 Rasmus Plewe 2006-05-12 10:00:15 UTC
Unfortunately this is still an issue, seemingly for all remote calendar sources, not only for SLOX. With three remote sources (SLOX, GW, google calendar) it's a bit bothersome to come to work, unlock the screen and acknowledge a dozend of those windows. Both for korganizer and for kontact...
Comment 7 Rasmus Plewe 2006-08-18 16:15:24 UTC
An example of those error windows from kontact (no SLOX source active any more):

Could not rename partial file /var/tmp/kdecache-rplewe/kcal/kresources/Jb1Bv1mmi1.
Please check permissions.
Comment 8 Rasmus Plewe 2006-09-11 09:33:10 UTC
Actually, only kontact seems to cause this behaviour nowadays, I haven't seen this for korganizer in quite a while (since I have the Windows-reflex of just klicking 'OK' to get rid of those windows without reading them, I can't tell exactly. May be a really long time ago).
Adjusted summary accordingly.
Comment 9 Rasmus Plewe 2006-09-14 07:13:12 UTC
OK, today I saw such an error message for korganizer too. Several of them, in fact. So they do still happen for korganizer, but apparently not as often and regularly as with kontact.

Comment 11 Will Stephenson 2007-01-25 17:09:24 UTC
Fix committed upstream, we'll pick this up later in the buildservice packages, and I'll add this to a pending SP1 update to kdepim.
Comment 12 Rasmus Plewe 2007-08-14 12:19:13 UTC
This behaviour reappears in 10.3 beta1:

Could not rename partial file /var/tmp/kdecache-rplewe/kcal/kresources/NwwqArkOhJ.
Please check permissions.

Those messages apparently happen for both korganizer, kontact and possibly even korgac (I had them in three "piles" on my desktop this morning).
Comment 13 Rasmus Plewe 2007-09-10 13:47:29 UTC
Still an issue in beta3.
Comment 14 Will Stephenson 2010-11-15 11:56:40 UTC
I guess I'm not going to fix this. Should be fixed by Akonadi.
