Description Johannes Engel 2006-03-14 09:47:00 UTC
Trying to install openSuSE 10.1 Beta 6 I get the following behaviour: The system finds a console during the hardware detection and a few seconds later the monitor is switched off when I expected to see the first YaST-surface.
I'm using a nVidia GeForce2 GTS which is also detected correctly.
Installation via VNC seems to work correctly except that there is no display afterwards.

Does booting with `hwprobe=-gfxcard' help? Are you sure you selected the correct resolution for your screen? Attach `hwinfo --monitor'. Notice bug #157376 - the Geforce2 is rather outdated.

Hint: It's still `SUSE Linux', openSUSE is just the name of the project.
