Torsten: please, check it. We'll probably need some more info on your video hardware and BIOS. Please attach the output of hwinfo --vbe. Sounds like the ATI bug. Your best bet would be to pick up a new grub and bootsplash-theme-SuSE from the Factory tree at www.opensuse.org. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 114804 *** Created attachment 73389 [details]

I don't understand why it has been marked as resolved when I'm running an up to date system and it fails to start up half the time? I hope this info you asked for may help.
