Description Thomas Horsley 2006-04-15 17:45:53 UTC
I just installed RC1 from the 5 CDs, and I notice that the installer gives a
pretty poor first impression because it apparently can't count :-).

The Column labeled "Packages" in the install screen that counts down as packages
are being installed goes to "Done", yet several more packages continue to be
installed from the CD before it finally asks for the next CD (then the same
thing happens again).

Unlike the "Packages" column, the "Size" column is apparently accurate, not
going to "Done" till the last rpm is actually installed.

When it hits CD5, the top line for Total has a smaller package count than
the remaining packages on CD5 itself (though once again, the Size column
matches).

If I were installing SUSE on my mission critical banking transaction server,
the fact the the installer can't even count accurately would certainly give
me pause :-).

That's a known "feature" :-/
