Description Eric Ward 2006-05-11 04:43:01 UTC
Problem -
While http://f-spot.org/File_Types states that NEF, TIFF, and PNG file formats are supported, I'm unable to even do simple operations like "rotate" these file formats. When attempting to rotate, I receive errors like this in the GUI:

Error while rotating photo. Received error "Unable to rotate photo type" while attempting to rotate Screenshot.png

Viewing the F-Spot console output reveals very little information:

f-spot-dude@erw38:~> /usr/bin/f-spot --debug

NOTE: The only format that I've tested and have been able to successfully "rotate" is JPEG.

Steps to Reproduce -
Prerequisite - The files I tested with were created using a Nikon D100 DSLR (NEF and TIF) and Gnome's Take Screenshot app (PNG). These files can be downloaded from here:
http://193.97.125.1/Pics/DSC_9379.NEF
http://193.97.125.1/Pics/DSC_9384.TIF
http://193.97.125.1/Pics/Screenshot.png

- Import the test images
- Attempt to "rotate" them right or left

Expected Behavior -
Rotating operations should work on more then just JPEG files.

Misc Info -
The dcraw package was installed and I was testing with the following F-Spot rpm:

This was a choice made by project management on development priorities. I'll leave it open but I just wanted to make it clear.
Comment 3 Eric Ward 2007-03-07 17:14:04 UTC
Updating Product to "SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 SP1" since the issue still exists in the beta5 build of SLED10 SP1.
