From opensuse-factory mailinglist: [Coolo] What happens if you call "susehelp help:kate" on the command line? [Andrew Lofthouse] # susehelp help:kate susehelp - the SUSE help center start susehelp starts up the SUSE online help. The way the help is displayed depends on the system settings. [...] -> this is the "usage" output, not the expected manual :-( BTW: This bug seems to break the help/manual of _all_ KDE applications - this is not "normal". I'd recommend to release an update... Yes, an update would be fine. But nevertheless how can such a thing happen? Aren't there any professional beta testers? Such a stupid bug MUST NOT HAPPEN at all after releasing several betas and release candidates. It seems beta testers don't need manuals :-/ (Feel free to test all manuals and help menus when 10.2 beta is ready ;-) So I have exactly the same problem in final release but not in rc2. This is catastrophic. So I expect a patch.please !!!! Still present in SLED10 RC1. *** Bug 177015 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Holger, see #172104 - it was found in RC1. AJ, can we do an update to fix this for KDE and gnome in 10.1? Yes, please do. Swamp-ID: MaintenanceTracker-4367 Submitted. ..and fixed. Hi! I have this bug too. It was present in KDE 3.5.1. I found that if SuSEHelpCenter was already running, the Manual Page was displayed. If SuSEHelpCenter was not running, it couldn't be started. Because I thought, that updating to 3.5.2 would perhaps fix the bug, I did an update with http://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/x86_64/supplementary/KDE/update_for_10.1/ but the bug is still present in 3.5.2. Question: will the bug be fixed in 3.5.2 too or only for the normal tree? Regards Eberhard Harbrink This bug is not fixed in KDE 3.5.2. The bug lies in the susehelp package which is not related directly to KDE. An updated susehelp for 10.1 will be available this week. I can confirm that this bug is still there, even after upgrading to KDE 3.5.2 that's nice, but we didn't ask you to - especially in light of #14 *** Bug 179450 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** For the records: the fixed package works :-) |
