Experiencing the same problem in RC1, whether with Banshee or Banshee Helix package.

This happened in Beta and RC1 no matter if it was banshee or helix banshee.

Comment 6 Andreas Jaeger 2006-11-28 07:16:37 UTC
This is not a blocker bug.
Comment 7 Fred Blaise 2006-12-06 08:46:46 UTC
It's not a blocker, but it _seriously cripples_ the media capabilities of openSUSE. From a desktop standpoint, this is quite bad IMO. And it's not fixed for GM. And it's not even assigned...
Comment 8 Cameron Seader 2006-12-06 16:13:49 UTC
This is so bad that i am just moving to KDE, Amarok works so much better. WOW the difference is amazing.
Comment 9 Anand Bisen 2006-12-06 16:19:24 UTC
It's not a block depends upon perspective. It's blocker for many and non blocker for others.
Comment 10 Alberto Passalacqua 2006-12-16 22:21:01 UTC
Same problem here. Any news?
This is a blocker bug for many user imo. At least if you consider openSUSE a distribution which targets home users.

I think you should increase priority and solve as soon as possible.
Comment 11 Alberto Passalacqua 2006-12-17 01:46:36 UTC
Btw, the problem is solved in banshee 0.11.3, available on the build server. Just add this repo:

http://software.opensuse.org/download/Banshee/openSUSE_10.2/i586/

I hope an official patch and a working banshee-helix will be released soon throught updates however.
Comment 12 Alberto Passalacqua 2007-01-16 21:24:15 UTC
Will a helix-banshee patch be available for OpenSuSE 10.2?
Comment 13 Jesse Michael 2007-01-18 07:57:37 UTC
I'm having this same problem with a 8gb Nano 2 on 10.2.

The version from that repository works for me as far as detecting the Nano and copying files to it, but the lack of mp3 support in gstreamer is really painful.
Comment 14 Fred Blaise 2007-02-07 18:55:06 UTC
So... when could this be fixed for helix-banshee? Any updates on this? Thanks.
Comment 16 Vince Levey 2007-03-02 14:09:53 UTC
Ditto me for a helix-banshee fix. For those of us who've ditched iTunes for Banshee, this is most frustrating.
Comment 18 Andreas Jaeger 2007-03-05 07:47:38 UTC
Update of banshee and helix-banshee for openSUSE 10.2 is approved: MaintenanceTracker-8619
Comment 19 Alberto Passalacqua 2007-03-23 22:29:23 UTC

helix-banshee needs libipoddevice >= 0.5.2, but the libipoddevice we have in 10.2 is version 0.5.1.
Comment 26 Marcus Meissner 2007-04-20 05:58:23 UTC
Aaron, can you please submit the newer libipoddevice to 10.2?

I saw you did some more changes to banshee etc in SP1, are these
changes useful for 10.2 too?
Comment 28 Marcus Meissner 2007-05-02 07:42:39 UTC
I have cp -a the SLE10-SP libipoddevice verbatim to done/10.2.
