Description Andreas Klein 2006-10-28 13:32:39 UTC
I tried to add the non-oss add-on CD. I was asked to insert the non-oss CD. Pressing the eject button, on the CDROm did not work. It was possible to eject the CD by pressing the eject button in yast.
At the beginning of the installation I was asked to insert CD1, this time pressing the eject button crashed yast.

Most likely a duplicate bug of #214820.
Comment 2 Timo Hoenig 2006-10-30 15:58:20 UTC
Just talked to Marius, it is not likely that this is a duplicate of bug #214820 as YaST does not use 'eject' or HAL to eject CDs.

Andreas, could you please attach the YaST logs?
Comment 3 Andreas Hanke 2006-10-30 16:03:03 UTC
The eject failure might be a duplicate of bug 214820, but the YaST crash is not. It might be a duplicate of another bug. Bug 216140, maybe?

YaST must _never_ crash, not even if the eject binary is unavailable (but users should _really_ learn to attach the logfiles, otherwise it can happen that the distribution is shipped with known crasher bugs in it).

Andreas, could you attach your YaST log files, please? If you are in doubt, please read this FAQ:
http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs/YaST

And also useful might be runing the application in a console and attach the output here.

Thank you.

Thanks for testing.
