/sbin/yast2: line 267: 4934 Segmentation fault $ybindir/y2base

This is on a clean install of 10.2 Beta 1 (32 bit) on an AMD X2 3800+ with an AsRock SATA2 motherboard, nVidia 6600GT (using OSS nv driver), Acer AL2016W monitor. Install is always a basic install with KDE - all defaults accepted.

Online update not done during the install the first time this seg fault was encoutered. Install was completed, and the Online Update Configuration was attempted after the install was completed. Segfault as pasted above.

Did a reinstall, and completed the registration process during install. An update server was picked by the installer. After install was completed, I attempted to run the Online Update Configuration again, and got the same segfault.

Comment 2 Lukas Ocilka 2006-11-01 15:21:54 UTC
Maybe problem of package bindings.

YaTS2 logs from 10.2

Here is the Yast log.
I experimented a little, and it looks like Cristian is right, this is a duplicate of bug 216140.
I placed the DVD back in the drive and went through the update steps. It all worked correctly. I removed the DVD from the drive and was able to do the update and/or configure steps without error.
The Yast log contains log entries for both the error, and the successful Yast2 run.
