yast2 printer still crashes with memory
corruption and segmentation fault.
I had reported this for 10.2 alpha 4, and it
was marked as duplicate of
bug #202903 from 2006-08-31,
but it is still not working in beta1.

And it's still a duplicate.

This is fixed in yast2-printer-2.14.4, but as you can easily verify, Beta1 ships with yast2-printer-2.14.3. That's why you can see it in Beta1.

Please make a new report if/when you can reproduce it with a version of yast2-printer >= 2.14.4.
