Description Thomas Schäfer 2006-12-13 21:34:08 UTC
Error-Message:

Can not open the file /proc/bus/usb/devices

Verify that you have USB compiled into your kernel,
have the USB core modules loaded, and have the usbdevfs filesystem mounted.
Comment 1 Matej Horvath 2006-12-14 12:05:08 UTC
So, have you checked it?
Comment 2 Andreas Hanke 2006-12-14 12:19:18 UTC
There is most likely no need to do that: /proc/bus/usb/devices does not exist any more because of bug 210899.

Note that this does _not_ make it a duplicate of bug 210899. usbview needs to be fixed to stop using this deprecated interface.
Comment 3 Andreas Hanke 2007-02-02 22:16:41 UTC
CC'ing Greg as discussed in bug 210899 and setting from "Minor" to "Normal" because there is loss of functionality.
Comment 4 Greg Kroah-Hartman 2007-05-21 16:40:15 UTC
Now fixed due to change in usbfs in the 10.2 kernels.
