maniboard: MSI K9A PLATINUM (SB600 / RD580) chipset
CPU: Athlon64 5200 dual core 
RAM: 2 GB
HD: Western Digital SATA2
Other: pata DVD writer

I have a Athlon64 dual core in a MSI K9A PLATINUM motherboard, and for
instaling OSS 10.2, I must to install with "install pci=nomsi" in the
command line. Later I upgrade it to OSS 10.3 alpha 6, and it works
without important problems (32 bit version). In the booth parameter uses 
But now I downloaded the kde x86-64 iso, verified the checksum, it was
ok, and it will not install on my SB600 / RD580 based motherboard.
I must boot in with the parameter "pci=nomsi" in 10.3 alpha 6, I triyed to remove it, and the system do'nt loads.

I tryed with safe settings, acpi off, and with "install pci=nomsi",
but the ahci module will not load. The bios is setted to "Native IDE",
but it was the same in 10.2 and 10.3 alpha 6 if it was setted to
"ahci".
Other detail, after the upgrade to 10.3 alpha 6, I changed the dvd
burner from a Asus ATAPI, to a LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A1H (20x burning
dvds), and I must to change the driver from the ide-generic to
pata_atiixp, to lograte that it works with k3b.
In the installation proces the system stops for about 2 minutes
trying to load de ahci driver module (in 10.2 32 bits I got the same
problem without the "install pci=nomsi" in the command line), but this
option will not work now in 10.3 beta1 X86-64.
Now the loaded modules for the disk controllers with 10.3 alpha 6 32 bits are:

The new kernel kernel-default-2.6.22.2-20070814064043 (32 bits) will not work without the pci=nomsi as boot parameter. If the new kernel where ok, it must booting without the pci=nomsiparameter. The 64 bits version of the kernel I could'nt test it because I do'nt have a install cd with the new kernel.

The sata driver of the chipset ATI sb600 from my mobo, appear as Si3112.sys in the drivers disk. The raid driver appear as Si3112r.sys.
The linux version of this driver, is included in the ahci driver?

As i see, i mean it must be sata_sil, or sata_sil24:

Alright, RD580 added to MSI blacklist.  Will forward patch mainline too.  Please test beta2 when it comes out and re-open if the problem persists.

Your mobo doesn't have a sil controller.  The driver is pata_atiixp.

Yes the driver for the new ide/atapi drives is pata_atiixp. For the old ide drives I could use the ide-generic driver, but with the new drives, i must use pata_atiixp module driver.
For a dvd burner Asus ATAPI I used ide-generic, and for a LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A1H (20x burning dvds), and I must to change the driver from the ide-generic to
pata_atiixp, to lograte that it works with k3b.

For the sata drives the driver appear as ahci in linux. I tryed to load the sata_sil module via modprobe, and it loads without errors.

In the windows driver disk of the mobo MSI K9A PLATINUM (SB600 / RD580) chipset, appear Si3112.sys.

After upgrading to beta 3, and rebooting, the system has entered in a fsck, and could not complete it. I must run it by hand, to resolve the problem, aparently caused by a buggy ahci driver.

In dmesg I obtain:

Juan, you need to open a separate bug report and we need more detail to determine what's going on.  Those two messages are reporting that the driver is working around known problems and with those quirks applied it should work.  Please open a separate bug report with more info (it would be great if you can retry it and see whether the problem is reproducible) and cc me.
