Description Tristan Hoffmann 2007-08-16 13:10:07 UTC
I tried to replace my openSUSE 10.3 Alpha7 with Beta1, but the installer didn't find my harddisk any more. So I updated Alpha7 with the latest factory packages and I had the same problem. AHCI doesn't work so my system doesn't start properly any more.

Here's the kernel output:

ahci 0000:00:12.0: controller can't do 64 bit DMA, forcing 32 bit
ahci 0000:00:12.0: AHCI 0001.0100 32 slots 4 ports 3 Gbps 0xf impl SATA mode
ahci 0000:00:12.0: flags: ncq sntf ilck pm led clo pmp pio slum port

... some other things ...

ata1: SATA link down (SStatus 0 Scontrol 300)

After these messages I only get a minimal command prompt.

My system is an ASUS M2A-VM Motherboard with the AMD 690G chipset.
