Description Michael Matz 2007-09-07 18:17:59 UTC
Several packages are missing from the DVD9, which are important for
development (e.g. to compile GCC). In particular
  mpfr-devel
  mpfr-32bit
  mpfr-devel-32bit

I'm not sure if the absense of these packages doesn't point to a deeper
problem in forming the package lists. After all the -devel package
is a subpackage of mpfr itself, which _is_ on the DVD. It might be
wise to check for sure that not also other "natural" packages are missing.

yast2-power-management is also missing. I have it installed on my 10.2
system, and I think we should either be able to update it with the DVD9
or remove that package from the system during update (i.e. provide/obsolete
it, but that doesn't really make sense as we still have it).
Comment 2 Stephan Kulow 2007-09-07 19:27:22 UTC
mpfr is on the DVD because Rudi thought it's needed for the Cell pattern. It's not on my list and won't be - we put things on patterns on DVD and beta3 is basically too late to figure a "natural" tool should be in pattern.

So, add mpfr-devel to the devel_basis or devel_C_C++ pattern.
