Description Paul Hardwick 2007-11-05 18:31:03 UTC
Installing openSUSE10.3 on a dual boot system where openSUSE10.2 had been installed. The XP OS was hibernated.

The Partioning dialog recommends including my two NTFS partitions in the list of mounted drives.

I accept the recommendation but I am then advised that it cannot proceed with installation while XP is hibernated - it advises me to reboot in to XP.

Something has not been completed (perhaps grub information has not been written??) and the hardrive will no longer boot!

The work around is to manually edit the partiton selection - blanking out the mount point for the NTFS drives so they cannot be mounted.

This allows the install to proceed. The user then has to add teh NTFS partions manually later.
