Description Scott Couston 2008-01-03 08:43:54 UTC
KDE install>Click RED shutdown/logoff>Select Turn Off Computer.
If splash screen is turn off by hitting escape last system action is
"The system will be halted immediately"
after which this remains and PC Power will NOT be terminated.
Not sure if this is a kernel or Power save component.
Note X-64 system architecture.
Unable to locate shutdown log or locate correct log to view - Please advise

Does booting with apm=power-off help?
Comment 2 Scott Couston 2008-01-05 21:59:49 UTC
NO! The system fails on normal shut down as above. Additional problems arise with apm=power-off when Suspend to Disk is utilised. When Suspend to Disk is utilised the system is shrunk and splash screen is displayed, BUT system will NOT turn off at the end of this procedure. Suspend to RAM is removed from options for obvious reasons with apm=power-off - Sorry not a Power Save Bug.
