Description Olaf Hering 2008-02-13 14:55:21 UTC
on a 10.3 installation, when running opensuseupdate from the kde panel, there is always one update available, even after multiple runs of the updater.
I have seen this on several systems, even on intel.

Seems like a duplicate of bug 344025. Olaf, can you please retry two or three times more and attach the zypper.log?

I think this happens if the packman repo is part of the installation sources.

I did a fresh 10.3 install on fenberry.suse.de
I did configure online update sources in second stage, but I did not run the online update
I added the OSS repo
I installed kexec-tools and other packages
I added the packman repo
I added a new local user
I logged in via vnc as new local user
I ran the online updater via the kde panel
Now there is always amarok available. But its not specific to amarok, the inital logs have Xnest (I think).

May it be the available update is indicated just because a higher version amarok-1.4.8-100.pm.2.ppc is available in the repos.

But performing the update this version is not installed, because

U__s_[S1:1][package]amarok-1.4.8-100.pm.2.ppc has ANOTHER vendor '"Packman"'
than the updated item
I__s_[S0:0][package]amarok-1.4.7-37.ppc(vendor: SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Nuernberg, Germany)

opensuseupdater Keeps showing the the need to update when Amarok is uninstalled
Comment 9 Mathieu ROHE 2008-03-16 14:09:54 UTC
the command "zypper update" in a root console fixes the problem
Comment 10 Marcus Meissner 2008-03-19 10:48:44 UTC
design issue... we need to fix this on the servers now for 10.3

The issue are two patchinfos named "amarok":
91e6933a27e3521019f15523890987e3 and 554a8e71a7ad4536dad127c185ea615c

The patchinfo 554a8e71a7ad4536dad127c185ea615c needs to include
amarok-lang and yauap too (like the first one).

Rudi, can you add amarok-lang and yauap to the PACKAGE list for 554a8e..
and regenerate it?
Comment 11 Ruediger Oertel 2008-03-19 12:03:32 UTC
changed patch number so a new file is generated (and removed the old one)
the patch file is now patch-amarok-4492.xml

packages added, patch updated on all (you, publictest, public)
