Suggested 'new' dialog
I agree with you, that the current design of the "Software Repositories"` "Add" dialog is quite complex. Another idea would be to select the connection type to the repository in a combo box and the options for the repositories (e.g. enter URL) are displayed below. See: http://en.opensuse.org/Image:New_add_repo_community.png http://en.opensuse.org/Image:New_add_repo_ftp.png What do you think about that? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 346718 *** In reply of comment #3: I think your new design is a good solution. One can easily access the right media type and it follows the design of other new yast dialogues. So I would be perfectly happy with this. Thanks! Similar redesigns can be seen in bug 346718. These designs also utilize the combo box as a method of choosing the media. (Were Martin's based on those?) Anyways, a discussion can be found on the that bug report that will supplement the discussion here. Ah, thanks for the info Josh. In reply of comment #6: I didn't know about the ideas proposed in Bug #346718 but it is a good sign to me, when different people have similar ideas to solve a problem :-) |
