The zypper man page has a bit of a redundancy here. ;-)

       -f, --force
              Install even if the item is already installed (reinstall)

       -C, --capability
              Select resolvables by capabilities.

       -f, --force
              Install the package even if it is  already  installed  (rein-
              stall).

done in zypper 0.11.0-8
