Description Wiki Melancholie 2008-06-25 05:12:47 UTC
The Foomatic/cdj850 driver that is configured and used by default right after installation is not working for the printer HP DeskJet 1100C.

I think this driver is used as it states "(recommended)"; but it doesn't work.

Foomatic/pcl3 and Gutenprint do work though quite well (although configuration is not very comfortable; not as easy as with Windows ;-).

Note: With Foomatic/cdj850 all LED lights are blinking on any print attempt, and nothing is printed then; the printer only shows that error, hanging.

Thanks.
The driver "HP DeskJet 1100C Foomatic/hpijs" should have been installed as 1st choice by YaST instead:
/usr/share/cups/model/manufacturer-PPDs/hplip/hp-deskjet_1100-hpijs.ppd.gz

Don't know why.

YaST issue --> reassign to mzugec.

attach yast logs, please
Comment 4 Michal Zugec 2008-08-14 06:06:24 UTC
There is new yast2-printer module which fixes most of the bugs. If this problem occurs in this version, please reopen bugreport.
