Gnucash-guide.xml and gnucash-help.xml are both installed in /usr/share/gnucash/gnome/help/gnucash/C/ in opensuse 11.0. There was some discussion in the original bug about why Gnucash can't find the documentation, but this only happens in openSuse KDE. This is NOT a minor bug for gnucash users who've had this problem and reported it since at least 10.2. I just created a symlink
/usr/share/gnucash/gnome/help/gnucash/en_US/
pointing to
/usr/share/gnucash/gnome/help/gnucash/C/
'strace' shows that GNUCash is looking for gnucash-guide.xml there, but it does not look like the problem comes from here...
access("/usr/share/gnucash/gnome/help/gnucash/en_US/gnucash-guide.xml", F_OK) = 0
I agree with Robert Smits, so I have set the severity to 'normal'.
All help for gnome applications does not work. See #367442 the gnome team refuses to fix help for gnome from KDE. Closing as wontfix. I'd like to see 367442 but apparently I'm not allowed to. Declaring something won't be fixed isn't a resolution, it's a copout. We, opensuse KDE users have been waiting pretty patiently for a fix since 10.2 and now to just throw up your hands and ignore us makes me, at least, quite angry. The least you could do is explain what it is that's broken and why you allege the gnome team won't fix something. If Gnucash docs worked OK in other distros KDE, why don't they in opensuse KDE? |
