On my Dell Inspiron 1525, the FN keys are not working. Hence I added some lines to /usr/share/fdi/information/10freedesktop/30-keymap-dell.fdi. Now my Multimedia-Keys are working. I attached my 30-keymap-dell.fdi.

I don't see why this should block a HP related bug, removed dependency

Please provide a diff and not the full file. It's hard to find out what you changed there.
