Possibly broken again in 11.1b4? I cannot connect in an updated 11.0 or 11.1b4. I will try 11.1b3 next. I will note that my 4965 worked absolutely great until the most recent kernel update. Now I cannot dhcp an address at all with that interface. A zd1211rw (USB 802.11g) works fine and so does the built-in intel eepro/1000. Current kernel revision: 2.6.25.18-0.2-default Possibly related (even though the following references a newer kernel?) http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11144 I just finished rebooting into 2.6.25.16-0.1-default. I was able to connect just fine, the first time, and the entire connect took approx. 4 seconds. There appears to be a *REGRESSION* between 2.6.25.18-0.2 and 2.6.25.16-0.1. The latter works, the former doesn't (for the 4365). See also bug 383083. i use acer aspire 5920G so, with opensuse 11.0 is impossibile use this board, the butto with antenna (wich tourn on/off wireless) is ever swith-off!! with opnesuse 11.1 beta3 /beta4 the wireless board work perfectly ena i can job with wireless whitout a problem!! (the button antenna is on i see the bott orange!!) But in opensuse 11.0 the wireless in died :-(!!!! Mandi da Andrea (In reply to comment #5 from andrea martin) > But in opensuse 11.0 the wireless in died :-(!!!! Even if you try 2.6.25.16-0.1 (don't look at flashing buttons, just give it a try)? Otherwise I wouldn't invest time to investigation of what enabled support in 11.1 and recommend you to update (at least kernel) to 11.1. so, i waiting opensuse11.1 :-) thanks by andrea (with the kernel 2.6.25.18-0.2-pae, the botton not light, but the wireless not work wilist scan not return a networks.... no problem opensuse 11.1 incoming!) Ok, thanks for cooperation. I grabbed a new firmware from Intel. I'm now using iwlwifi-4965-ucode-228.57.1.21 and it works better than ever! :) with which kernel? With 2.6.25.18-0.2-default (x86_64). Thanks for the info. |
