which usb id has this scanner? (run lsusb to find out) Bus 008 Device 007: ID 04b8:012d Seiko Epson Corp. Perfection V10/V100 (GT-S600/F650) The scanner with USB IDs 04b8:012d is listed in /etc/udev/rules.d/55-libsane.rules and in /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/70-scanner.fdi Those files are ready-made installed by the packages sane-backends and sane-backends-autoconfig. Therefore everything is correctly installed for the udev/HAL/hal-resmgr machinery so that everything is correctly preset out-of-the-box for a happy nice user-friendly plug-and-play experience (or for whatever they say that it is ;-) Compare https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=444316#c2 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 438867 *** |
