Thanks for the report, Erik. There's work in progress to get the hotkeys of ASUS supported again. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 448004 *** |
Hi, I own a Asus X56V laptop. First I installed OpenSuse 10.3. The Fn-keys worked out of the box. Now for making the Intel Wifi Link 5100 work well I installed OpenSuse 11.1 and the keys don't work properly. I can't adjust the brightness, the sound volume and switch off the touch pad. Everything worked in Suse 10.3. Since the things I read about this problem didn't help I think this could be a bug. Another detail. I changed in the xorg.conf the keyboard model as you can see here: Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Keyboard[0]" Driver "kbd" Option "Protocol" "Standard" Option "XkbLayout" "de" # Option "XkbModel" "microsoftpro" Option "XkbModel" "asus_laptop" Option "XkbRules" "xfree86" EndSection The effect was that the auto brightness which comes with the laptop (there is a little lense at the top) doesn't take effect any longer which is much better but not what I want. The brightness now is at the toppest level but I stillcan't adjust it. Thanks for that great system. Greetings Erik
