Description Stefan Dirsch 2009-07-03 22:06:06 UTC
Figure out, if it's possible to hardcode 'Virtual' (not overwriting the one from xorg.conf of course) in Xserver for RANDR 1.2 drivers, which can't resize the framebuffer on-the-fly. radeon and nv(G80) come to my mind here. Exceptions for
radeon are

Radeon VE&VID=0x1002&DID=0x5159
Radeon LW&VID=0x1002&DID=0x4c57
ES1000 5969&VID=0x1002&DID=0x5969
ES1000 515E&VID=0x1002&DID=0x515E

intel can resize framebuffer, for radeonhd we likely can implement this feature.

For 11.1/SLE11 we used 'Virtual 3840 1200', but for rotating 'Virtual 3840 1920'
probably makes more sense.
Comment 3 Stefan Dirsch 2009-09-10 01:36:33 UTC
Probably needs to be done in the drivers themselves, i.e. radeon and nv(G80).
Comment 4 Matthias Hopf 2009-09-11 14:59:42 UTC
Fixed in radeonhd and radeon.

Yet to be submitted, because BuildService is already down (PowerOff on weekend).
