Description Forgotten User DBWoND-zrO 2009-10-12 21:23:11 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.4pre) Gecko/20090720 SUSE/2.0b2-1.3 SeaMonkey/2.0b2

I can't get back my CD/DVD disks pushing the CD/DVD drive eject button.
I can eject the disk from nautilus or from right-click -> eject on the
media icon in the desktop.

My smolt profile is:
http://www.smolts.org/client/show/pub_9e47ad90-2204-429a-9d25-65ea5fbfb014

PS. I can eject the CD/DVD tray (empty tray) pushing the CD/DVD drive eject
button to insert the disk. Hence, I think that this is not an ACPI bug.

Thanks.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

openSUSE 11.2 GNOME M8.

Thanks.

Is this a Xorg problem?
Comment 3 Forgotten User DBWoND-zrO 2009-10-20 03:39:26 UTC
No, this is a DeviceKit-disks problem.
Comment 4 Itai Danan 2009-10-23 12:42:19 UTC
Same problem found in 11.2 RC1.

This was confirmed with two drives, an internal IDE NEC 3550 and a Toshiba Slimline External USB optical drive. This worked perfectly with 11.1.
Comment 5 Itai Danan 2009-10-23 12:45:15 UTC
The problem occurs in 64 bits and 32 bits, so I changed the platform to All.
Comment 6 Atri Bhattacharya 2010-01-29 19:36:19 UTC
Over at freedesktop the bug [1] is resolved as fixed, and the required patch is here

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=30108

Since this problem very much exists in the final version of openSUSE 11.2, it would be nice to have this as an online update.

Thanks.

Product is no longer supported. In case the issue is still reproducable on a maintainerd product (at that momement: openSUSE 13.1 or later), feel free to reopen.
