Shutdown messages

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; de; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091103 SUSE/3.5.5-1.1.2 Firefox/3.5.5

Because of bug 548108 I had to install and boot with kernel parameter "acpi=ht".

Whenever I shutdown the system the shutdown sequence does not come to a proper end (see attached picture of shutdown messages). As a consequence the disks are not properly unmounted, causing fsck messages at next boot (see picture attached to bug 559048).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Shutdown the system

Actual Results:
Shutdown sequence hangs before proper end.
Disks are not unmounted properly

Expected Results:
Disks properly unmounted, shutdown sequence continues to regular end.

Since I am able to work around bug 548108 by a BIOS upgrade I can now operate my system with ACPI switched on so that the problem above is no longer relevant for me. However, others who must work without ACPI may still encounter the problem.
