Running openSUSE 11.2 Gnome (Installed from LiveCD). 
1. Click Shutdown from Main Menu, get logged out but system does not shutdown
2. Click Shutdown or Restart from Login Screen, nothing happens.

I have the power button set to shutdown when pressed.
 1. Press the power button while logged in, it immediately shuts down.
 2. Press the power button at the login screen, asks what I want to do.  Clicking shutdown here is successful.



Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Click Computer > Shutdown 
2.Click Shutdown or Restart from Login Screen 
3.
Actual Results:  
step 1. System logs user out, does not shutdown
step 2. Nothing happens

Expected Results:  
step 1. System shuts down
step 2. System shuts down or restarts, depending on which button is clicked

Thanks for reporting but this is already being investigated in bug #540482.
