That's not so simple - there are a lot of settings affected, and most of the UI is a generic toolkit, so the logical connection would get lost in a hurry: For the UI, those things are usually just generic tables - it doesn't know where they are used and thus what value to restore (and when). As for your particular case, there is something that might even be easier to use: http://www.suse.de/~sh/YaST2-Package-Manager/index.html#colors A downgrade would mean red font color for that package in the package list on the right side of the YOU dialog. Agreed, you can't tell the difference for the currently selected package (usually the first in the list), but for all others it's way easier to see. Plus, there are also the tooltips that explain version differenced in detail - even telling if the version you are looking at is newer or older than what you already have installed. As for the session settings management you are requesting, let's put that in the back burner - maybe a good idea pops up at some point. Currently I don't have one. post 9.3 Adapted product / version number - problem still exists in 10.0 *** Bug 129683 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 179489 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 179489 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 228347 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 115221 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 251660 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 226371 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 226371 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 226371 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 179489 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 327679 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 327679 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** This report is related to saving widgets and whole windows size and placement. I hope, changed summary and this bit of explanation reduce double closing reports :-)

In case the report saw repeated reopen comments, it's due to bugzilla timing out on the huge request ;( |
