akonadi migration screen

I installed 11.3 M4 LiveCD KDE. Every time when I run PC and login into KDE4 akonadi tries to migrate address book. Look on attached screen. If You need any logs just point them here.

Regards,
Mariusz

Confirmed
Comment 2 Mariusz Fik 2010-05-07 12:53:05 UTC
I updated system, and now with M6 this issue still occurs.
Comment 3 David Bailey 2010-05-07 22:13:59 UTC
Still in brand new install of M6
Comment 4 Cristian Rodriguez 2010-05-21 19:07:19 UTC
Exactly the same problem here.
Comment 5 Roman Lyubushkin 2010-05-26 20:01:58 UTC
Freshly installed Milestone 7 (livecd KDE i686), there is the same thing.
Comment 6 Forgotten User 1-yzHWP3HO 2010-05-30 15:32:12 UTC
M7 also contains the bug if the live cd is installed on an empty eeepc 901

Added a patch to kdepimlibs4 that prevents the migrator running at all when the kresources config file does not actually exist (as is the case for a default user). Please update kdepimlibs4 from KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop and check if this solves the issue for you.
Comment 9 Mariusz Fik 2010-05-31 23:34:28 UTC
I updated kdepimlibs4 packages from KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop. I have now:

kdepimlibs4-4.4.3-150.1
libakonadi4-4.4.3-150.1
libkdepimlibs4-4.4.3-150.1

But akonadi _still_ tries to migrate address book with every login.
If You need any logs, just write here.

Regards,
Mariusz

@Mariusz: I can't be sure if you have the rebuilt packages just looking at build numbers.

To double check, does the top changelog entry for kdepimlibs4 mention this bug?

  rpm -q --changelog kdepimlibs4 | head

will tell you.

@Mariusz:

More info needed:

Does the user data come from a pre 11.3 (pre KDE 4.4 installation) or was it new?

Please attach $HOME/.kde4/share/config/kres-migratorrc after the migrator has run.

Please attach $HOME/.kde4/share/config/kresources (as a tarball with any passwords removed, or mail to me privately).

kresources files from new user account

11.3 was installed from M4. Then I did update via `zypper dup` so system reached M7.

I created a new user account to test this feature so all user data are fresh.
Attached archive contains all files/dir You pointed in previous comment.
Comment 14 Alexander van Kaam 2010-06-02 14:59:02 UTC
in my case it was a 11.2 to 11.3 Mt with zypper dup.

the files Mariusz attached are identical to mine, except for a different random resource number in kres-migratorrc which also comes back in the stdrc file.

not sure if it matters but never used kde4's contacts/calendar/notes so they empty.
Comment 15 Roman Lyubushkin 2010-06-05 06:03:30 UTC
The attached files are identical to my ones too. akonadi still tries to migrate

Name: kdepimlibs4
Version: 4.4.3-152.1
Comment 16 Bayard Coolidge 2010-06-06 01:20:27 UTC
I'm also seeing this with a fresh/virgin installation of M7. I even installed MySQL in the vain hope that perhaps Akonadi (or kresource or some other KDE component) needed it and would go away happy, but it didn't resolve the issue.
I can't readily tell who's starting it when/how, so I can't easily block its start-up.

This seems to be solved in RC1, did a zypper dup from 11.2 to 11.3 RC1 and did not get the whole Akonadi stuff which I did get wehn zypper dup from 11.2 to M7
Comment 19 Alexander van Kaam 2010-06-28 16:14:34 UTC
I played a bit more with RC1, going to personal settings > advanced > KDE resources will start the akonadi server, then it gives you the message that its migration the address book, after that you get the resources panel, going again there on the same session works okay. However going there again on a new reboot will migrate the address book again. So its still happening just not automaticly on boot up because I think the akonadi server is not auto started anymore ?
