Starting firefox in konsole gets: kmozillahelper(6159)/kdecore (KSycoca): Trying to open ksycoca from "/var/tmp/kdecache-Stephen/ksycoca4" GLib-ERROR **: gmem.c:137: failed to allocate 187363653324901 bytes aborting... An archlinux bug (http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/19358) suggests the problem is in gtk2.20.1-1.2 Updating gtk2 to the new version in the GNOME factory repo solved the problem for me. I can confirm Firefox crashes/unable to start from main menu, or desktop also on 32bit. Tested on LiveCD Gnome, M7. Here you are command line output: linux@linux~>firefox %u /usr/bin/firefox: line 128: 3777 Segmentation fault $MOZ_PROGRAM "$@" linux@linux~>firefox /usr/bin/firefox: line 128: 3800 Segmentation fault $MOZ_PROGRAM "$@" (In reply to comment #2) > Updating gtk2 to the new version in the GNOME factory repo solved the problem > for me. So moving to Gnome for reference (as it seems it's already in the update pipeline). This is already being forwarded to oS:F, so closing. *** Bug 608162 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I have this same problem in kde 4.4.3 with the M7 *** nss-shared-helper: Shared database disabled (set NSS_USE_SHARED_DB to enable). GLib-ERROR **: gmem.c:137: failed to allocate 186693638426725 bytes aborting... *** Bug 608965 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Hello, I run openSUSE11.3-KDE-Milestone 7 (build0625-i686)-LiveCD but I can start Firefox normally from Icon in panel or folder view or via Kickoff Application Launcher.
