User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; de; rv:1.9.1.9) Gecko/20100317 SUSE/3.5.9-0.1.1 Firefox/3.5.9

Installing openSUSE 11.3 Milestone 7 on a PC with two ISDN devices: a Fritz!Card DSL and a Gigaset M105 USB DECT adapter, YaST2 ISDN module is unable to configure either of them. Both are listed on the "ISDN Configuration Overview" page as:

Device Type Hardware
not configured ISDN TriMedia TM1300
not configured ISDN USB DECT Device

ie. not even with their correct name. When trying to configure one of them, the configuration page shows

Manufacturer unknown
ISDN Card unknown
Driver [empty and greyed out]

and after clicking Ok the corresponding line on the Configuration Overview page changes to

Device Type Hardware
contr0 ISDN unknown

openSUSE 11.2 was able to configure the USB device successfully, and at least detected the Fritz! card correctly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start YaST2.
2. Under "Network Devices", click on "ISDN".
3. On "ISDN Configuration Overview" tab "ISDN Devices", select a device and click "Edit".
4. On "ISDN Low Level Configuration for contrcontr0" (sic!) click Ok.
Actual Results:
On "ISDN Low Level Configuration for contrcontr0", the "Manufacturer" and "ISDN Card" fields say "unknown", and the "Driver" field is blank and greyed out.
After clicking Ok, the "Hardware" column displays "unknown".

Expected Results:
On "ISDN Low Level Configuration for contrcontr0", the "Manufacturer" and "ISDN Card" fields would be filled correctly, and the "Driver" field would contain the appropriate driver for the device, offering to select from the alternatives in case there are any.
After clicking Ok, YaST2 would proceed to install any missing packages (like i4l-base).
Afterwards, the "Hardware" column would display the correct hardware name.

echo '`Read(.probe.isdn)'|/usr/lib/YaST2/bin/y2base stdio scr

Problem is still present in RC1.

Same here in 11.3 final with

AVM Fritz PCI.

There is also no choice to choose a driver.

Sorry, no resources for this. If anyone provide patch that fix that problem we'll accept it.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. As ISDN support is essential for me, if I openSUSE abandons ISDN support I'll have to abandon openSUSE.

So long, and thanks for all the fish^Wsupport in the past.

Same issue in 11.4 final :-(
