As in this version the source lang was de -> bg 

Too late to fix this for 9.3. BTW. the chapter has been proofread by our main 
ACL developer and he is normally quite nitpicking on wordings, so I also would 
have to ask him first too. 

Two years and 4 releases later, I'm back and reopening this bugreport because the documentation still contains strings like "Access ACL" and "Zugriffs-ACL".

1. Before globally editing the TMs, removing instances where "ACL" is preceded by "Access" (Access ACL or access ACL) we would need to have sign-off from the author that there are no legitimate instances where this string should occur. From my reading of the documentation the term "access ACL" is differentiated from "default ACL" as outlined on this page. http://www.novell.com/de-de/documentation/opensuse102/?page=/en-us/documentation/opensuse102/opensuse102_reference/data/sec_acls_defs.html

This makes me understand that the word "access" is required when referring to "The user and group access permissions for all kinds of file system objects" as opposed to Default ACLs, which "can only be applied to directories".

I see in the Knowledge Base that the term access ACL is used:
"Fixes a long standing bug in acl_get_file() for default ACLs.
Default ACLs bigger than the access ACL of the same file could not be
retrieved; this is very unusual."

2. Perhaps there is a case for removing the English occurrence and the parentheses around "Zugriffs-ACLs" in this type of sentence:

3. I have looked in the latest version of the Reference Guide and this content is not present. It seems to have moved to section 10.3 of the Security Guide.

4. It seems sometimes "access" can be used as a verb. e.g.
"With getfacl and setfacl on the command line, you can access ACLs."

5. I have searched the English openSUSE 11.2 Security Guide[1] and found 10 occurrences of "access ACL" and "Access ACL". In my opinion the term "access" is required in all cases to differentiate between Default ACLs and in one case because it is a verb.

6. It appears that the Security Guide for openSUSE 11.2 has not been localised into German.

I await clarification from the author or proofreader on whether any action needs to be taken on the TMs.

Andreas, can you please confirm that we still use the terms "Access ACLs" and "Default ACLs"?  It is sufficient if you read comment 12.

ACL is short for Access Control List, and then there are Default ACLs.  Unfortunately, the two together are often also referred to as ACLs.  The manual tries to be explicit about this difference, but this only makes things more confusing in the end.

I have checked http://www.novell.com/documentation/opensuse112/book_security/?page=/documentation/opensuse112/book_security/data/cha_security_acls.html.  All instances of "access ACL" can be changed to "ACL" except where access is used as a verb.

By the way, the terms in the Definitions section should be capitalized (i.e., "User Class").

Could you please also remove http://acl.bestbits.at/ from the For More Information section?
