Description Nathan Ogden 2010-11-12 20:55:14 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.11 SUSE/9.0.569.0 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/9.0.569.0 Safari/534.11

Currently, the device notifier does not display devices mounted using ltspfs. When logged in to the LTSP server from a dummy terminal, plugging in a USB device causes the device to show up under /media/username/devicename, but the device does not show up in the device notifier.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set up an LTSP server running KDE 4.5 on openSUSE 11.3
2. Create users
3. Connect dummy terminal to server
4. Log in to server from dummy terminal
5. Plug in USB device
6. No device listed in device notifier (can be found in Dolphin under /media/username/devicename
Actual Results:
device does not show up in device notifier

Expected Results:
device shows up in device notifier

this is about opensuse related projected kiwi-ltsp, and maybe Component should be:
"System Imaging" (instead "KDE4 Workspace")

Check the Desktop, ltspfs creates a .desktop file for each device found, see /etc/ltspfs/mounter.d/kde-desktop-icons. If you want same kind of integration Gnome has with ltspfs you need to talk to LTSPFS and KDE developers and get them talking to each other. Please report it to KDE and LTSPFS upstream. Nothing that can be done by downstream packagers here.
