User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:6.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0

I´am on openSUSE12.1 MS which is brought to

http://download.opensuse.org/factory-tested/repo/ (all there - 18.8.2011)

I´ve tried to use yast2 -> Package Serch (webpin)

The result is that webpin in competely decoupled from the software database - it does not work on every package -> tried spacewalk, boinc , aaa, base, suse.

The logs will be added.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.call webpin and search for whatever
2.
3.

I have reproduced the problem, connecting to http://api.opensuse-community.org/ results in 503 HTTP error (Service Not Available) and http://opensuse-community.org/ prints an MySQL error.

The problem in on the remote server, but the yast search should not silently ignore connection errors...
Comment 3 Ladislav Slezák 2011-08-30 14:12:34 UTC
Fixed in SVN trunk, yast displays an error popup and the result is "Search failed" instead of "No packages matching entered criteria were found".
Comment 4 melchiaros melchiaros 2011-08-30 14:15:32 UTC
Verry fast.

Would you please assign whoever is maintaining the server for webpin requests, so that webpin can work at whole.
Comment 5 Ladislav Slezák 2011-08-31 13:33:07 UTC
The fix has been submitted in yast2-packager-2.21.12 to Factory (12.1-M4).
Resolving as FIXED.

(And I have sent an email to Pascal Bleser about the opensuse-community.org server problem.)

JFY: they are moving the servers, it will be hopefully working again, see http://dev-loki.blogspot.com/2011/08/opensuse-maintenance.html

o.K thank you for information.

Package search still appears broken in 12.1 Final. Regardless of what search string I use, I get Search failed. Remote server returned error code 404. Server must be moved by now, correct?
