Possibly related: bug #732642, bug #728731, bug #736695, bug#715467 I have found additional non-starters in the services menu: alsasound apcupsd dbus postfix random smartd avahi-daemon kbd random I tried to report with the bug reporting tool, but kded was not running, although ps showed that it WAS! USB drives and cameras show up in device reporter, but cannot be read. Happens on every boot and after correction through system services it will re-appear after a few minutes-to-hours Same here with a system updated from 11.4; dmesg is attached Created attachment 503603 [details]
dmesg
This could well be a race condition: / is an ssd. (In reply to comment #3) > Same here with a system updated from 11.4; dmesg is attached To clarify: dbus is not started automatically but must be started manually (/etc/init.d/dbus start) from a text console before KDE can be started. Jim, I suspect you also did an upgrade to 12.1 and no clean installation? Just want to verify the suspicion that this is no ConsoleKit, but an upgrade bug. Otherwise I bet we've got more similar reports. Thanks. Closing. |
