Via the testcase from the Ubuntu bug:

13.2/ImageMagick, 12/ImageMagick: no crash, no valgrind errors
11/ImageMagick: refuses to convert (with no valgrind errors)
$ convert test-128 test.bmp
convert: maximum channels exceeded `test-128'.
convert: missing an image filename `test.bmp'.
$

GraphicsMagick:
$ gm convert test-128 test.png
gm convert: Improper image header (test-128).
$
Comment 4 Petr Gajdos 2016-10-06 09:51:11 UTC
This is followup of CVE-2014-9843, bug 984179. This older CVE is fixed in 12/ImageMagick and 13.2/ImageMagick. Considering just these are affected (see the testcase).
Comment 5 Petr Gajdos 2016-10-13 13:39:51 UTC
I believe all fixed.
