Description Silviu Marin-Caea 2005-08-10 15:44:33 UTC
There are other bug reports about missing icons, however, I'm creating a bug
for all missing icons that I find.

1. Firefox, on the desktop and KDE menu
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=102607
2. KDE/System/Terminal
3. KDE/System/Bug Report Tool
4. KDE/System/Configuration/SUMF and SaX2
5. KDE/System/Monitor/Bonobo and hp-toolbox
6. KDE/System/Desktop Applet/SUSE plugger
7. KDE/Office none of the OpenOffice.org components. OpenOffice installed
from the ftp.opensuse.org YaST source. OpenOffice_org-1.9.121-2
8. KDE/Internet/Web page creation (oo.o writer/web)
9. KDE/Internet/Telephone/linphone
10. KDE/Graphics/vector drawing (oo.o draw)
11. KDE/Games/GL 117
12. KDE Control Center/YaST2 Modules/Hardware, Security and Users, Software
Comment 1 peter czanik 2005-08-10 15:54:44 UTC
It seems to me, that only KDE applications, and some of the most important
'other' applications have icons (like xmms and gimp), but no others.
Comment 2 Silviu Marin-Caea 2005-08-12 10:13:49 UTC
13. KDE/Games/Arcade/Frozen Bubble and Supertux
14. KDE/Games/Tactics&Strategy/Freeciv
Comment 3 Marcel Buchholz 2005-08-13 22:55:15 UTC
There are also some icons missing in the standard YaST-Theme, e.g. the icon for
the "Scanner" module.
Comment 4 Stephan Binner 2005-08-19 08:23:51 UTC
I don't see Firefox/OOo related and several others you listed as missing in
Beta 2 anymore. What are
missing in KDE menus are the icons of the applications which are placed
in /opt/gnome/share/pixmaps/
Comment 5 Stephan Binner 2005-08-19 08:42:35 UTC
*** Bug 105733 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Comment 6 Alexey Eremenko 2005-08-20 22:21:24 UTC
Well, yes, there are a LOT of icons are missing here and there...

Also added:
KPhone
Nvu
Mozilla Sunbird
Celestia (Astronomy Program)

As for FireFox bug:
Unfortunately, I can't view the bug #102607.

Let's assign that task to programmers.
Comment 7 Stephan Kulow 2005-08-21 08:53:32 UTC
perhaps it's unclear, but reporters are not supposed to ASSIGN bugs - unless
they were in NEEDINFO before
Comment 8 Alexey Eremenko 2005-08-21 21:33:47 UTC
Well, thanks. Yes, I just yesterday updated my OS on-line. (via Yast)
(So now I have updated system. BETA2-level -or- even better system).

So truly, now there are many more icons exist - still some are missing-
most notably:

1) Dynamic Dialog Editor (Kommander Editor) (K button->Development->GUI designer)
2) LinPhone
3) XSLT debugger
4) K button->Multimedia->Media editing
5) bonobo component browser
6) usbview
7) Profile manager (SUMF) (K button->System->configuration)
8) K button->System-> Bug Report Tool (seems to be buggy :) :) he-he)

-and sorry for assigning bugs.
About bugs: What am I supposed to do, if I filled a bug and nobody answers
during long time (say, 1 week)?

-Fenix*NBK* thanks-for-help.
Comment 9 Stephan Kulow 2005-08-22 08:15:06 UTC
could you please stop reopening bugs because it's not fixed in released
versions?

To answer your question: if nobody answers for 1 week, then it's best to
submit a patch :)
Comment 10 Alexey Eremenko 2005-08-22 20:21:12 UTC
Some additional icon problems found:

 1) KDE/GNOME games-arcade(Gnometris, Nibbles, Robots),games-board (Attaxx,
Iagno, Tali), games-Cards (Blackjack, freecell, AisleRiot)
 2) Tuxpaint
 3) Inscape
 4) gThumb image viewer
 5) Character Map
 6) Evolution email, calendar, task list & address book
 7) gnomemeeting
 8) EasyTag
 9) Audacity (this icon exists, however it's background is white. must be
transparent)
9a) This bug exists both in K menu & inside the application, top-left corner
of the Audacity window.
10) Totem Media player
11) Dia
12) Project Management (Planner)
13) Gnumeric
14) Dictionary
15) Computer (Nautilus)
16) Floppy formatter
17) GNOME Control Center (Yes,yes, even this one has no icon under K Menu)
18) GHex

All that was using KDE under Suse 10.0 BETA1 upgraded to BETA2.

Now, as you asked, I have decided *not* to open any bugs yet.
At least, not until I verify those results in BETA3.
Comment 11 Alexey Eremenko 2005-08-26 15:00:44 UTC
OK, Now started testing BETA3.
Most icons were fixed, however many unfixed remains, especially in games
section. Try to install *all* games from the 5 CDs and you will see what I
mean.

Actually there are no icons for:
1. Neverball
2. Neverputt
3. Ltris
4. Mad bomber
5. Maelstorm
6. Penguin Command
7. Solar Wolf
8. Pachi El Marciano
9. GL Chess
10. Tux Paint
11. Marbles
12. KhunPhan
13. Cannon Smash
14. xfig
15. XSLT Debugger
16. KForm Designer

And... I haven't even installed Gnome programs yet on my KDE system!

Comment 12 Stephan Kulow 2005-08-27 09:16:17 UTC
but it's no KDE bug if these games do not provide an icon. Really. I'm afraid
you will have to do a bug per game.
Comment 13 Alexey Eremenko 2005-08-27 10:50:34 UTC
Those bugs - are not KDE nor Game bugs.
Those are *SuSE Linux* Bugs !!!! and must be fixed immediately. thank you.
Comment 14 Stephan Kulow 2005-08-27 12:10:12 UTC
my point is another one: you can't simply reopen one bug and put ten others in
there. This is not how bugzilla works
Comment 15 Alexey Eremenko 2005-08-27 13:08:32 UTC
OK, then I will fill all those 16 or 20 icon bugs remaining.
Comment 16 Christoph Thiel 2005-08-27 23:37:47 UTC
Thanks. CLOSED.
