Description James Ots 2005-08-10 23:42:10 UTC
During the first part of the installation there's a slide show to hide the
list of packages being installed. But after the reboot after the first disc is
done, there's no slideshow, so it doesn't look very nice.

This is being worked on
Comment 2 Christian Boltz 2005-08-14 12:59:37 UTC
I also noticed that there is only one single slide, so no "show" when
installing from the "snail-mail" DVD.

I switched to package list (and back to slideshow) several times. I don't know
if this is causing the single slide, but I don't know ;-)
Comment 3 Stefan Hundhammer 2005-08-16 11:10:57 UTC
If there is a slide show on the media (and it is made known to the slide show
UI by the package manager backend), it will be displayed; if not, there is
nothing to display.

So comment #2 has to be because of no slide show on that DVD - a matter of how
the DVD is produced -> INVALID

The base issue of that is a long-standing feature request that is somewhere in
the feature document -> FIXED (will be fixed when scheduled, anyway out of
scope of Bugzilla).

Still not working with beta4. Please talk to the autobuild team and explain
them what to do.
Comment 5 Ruediger Oertel 2005-09-01 10:14:37 UTC
it's nothing we can do. there definitely is no space on every CD to
copy all slide show files to all 5 CDs. Unless the installer copies
the slide-show files to the installed-system, there is no way of having
a slide show during install of CD2-CD5 ...

The neverending ping-pong made it back to me once more. Just great.
Comment 7 Stefan Hundhammer 2006-01-17 13:19:34 UTC
This is now in the feature database.
