I just updated two machines from 9.2 to 9.3 
On one of them gimp refuses to start saying that In eed freetype 2.1.7 or later
and that I have 2.1.4. This is a blatant lie, as rpm -qa | grep freetype
gives

freetype2-devel-2.1.9-4
freetype-1.3.1-1160
freetype2-2.1.9-4


Any ideas?

It worked in all our updates.  Are you sure that you have the original SUSE
packages installed and not some local freetype package?

Btw. we're not taking 9.3 bugs, so I close this bug as invalid.  The bug would
be valid if encountered for an update to 10.0 beta1.
