Bugzilla – Bug 104356
add thunderbird by default
Last modified: 2005-10-10 10:48:53 UTC
Add Mozilla Thunderbird by default when installing. This way, it will be more esier to make migration from windows and it will be possible to share mail base between the two system.
We will not add it - we have already one Mailer with every desktop (GNOME: Evolution, KDE: Kmail). Users can select it if needed - I know that's not optimal but if your request is granted, we'll get bugs from lots of users about too many installed packages...
And what about just include it on the DVD ? This way, an user can and must choose to install it. In 9.3, we should use the .tar.tgz wich is less esier.
We will include the RPM on the DVD and I think it was there in 9.3 as well.
I can't find it in 9.3 and in 10.0 beta 3 (with all languages).
10.0 beta3 ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-current/inst-source/suse/i586/MozillaThunderbird-1.0.6-8.i586.rpm 9.3 ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/9.3/suse/i586/MozillaThunderbird-1.0-5.i586.rpm
I just downloaded and installed the dvd iso image (SUSE-10.0-EvalDVD-i386-GM.iso) for Suse 10 and the MozillaThunderbird package is not on there. Any reason not to include it?
It's on the ftp server and on the DVD9. The EvalDVD has the same packages as the CDs.
It is just on the FTP but only in English ! And YAST don't show it by default for installing, I must download on the FTP before... Is there another language somewhere ?
