The SuSE ftp sites have always had the kernel-default-nongpl packages (for
example,
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/9.3/suse/i586/kernel-default-nongpl-2.6.11.4-20a.i586.rpm)
but SuSE 10 does not.  They are also not on the CD, AFAICT.  Without this
package, the very common atheros wifi cards will not work (amongst other
things).  I think this package should at least be distributed, and probably
installed by default.

This kind of decisions is made somewhere else :/ I think openSUSE will have only
really free stuff, and a package with "nongpl" in its name obviously does not
fall into this category.
