Bugzilla – Bug 104579
Pkg::Save/RestoreState is not implemented (was: Unclear message in "Update options")
Last modified: 2008-01-04 11:58:18 UTC
I updated the existing SuSE Pro 9.3 installation on a Dell DImension using the Beta 1 cds. The existing installation was a KDE one, When I clicked on "Update Options" in the screen that summarized the installation options I got a radio button that selected "KDE System", which was correct, and then a confusing message, given that I had selected no detailed package list at that stage. You have already chosen software from "Detailed selection" You will lose the selection if you change the basic selection

Fixed in SVN for 10.1. You will not be asked that question if you don't modify the list of packages to update.

This bug still exists in 10.1 beta3 :-( y2logs: https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=66412&action=view
And does it still exist on Beta9?
IIRC: no - but I will retest with beta9 -> RC1 update. (however, I'm not Ivan - therefore not resetting NEEDINFO ;-)
In RC1 it's the other way round - you _never_ get the message, even if you have changed something in sw_single :-( see Attachment #78583 [details] to Bug #166881 for fresh y2logs from RC1.
The bug is also in openSUSE 10.2.
It seems that this bug is going to win some prize :) Can't fix/implement for 10.3, LATER (11.0) Anyway, it might have been already fixed ... :) Is that possible? I can't remember seeing such issue on 10.3
SaveState/RestoreState are still missing, the question is whether they are really needed and needs to be implemented...
Implemented in yast2-pkg-bindings-2.16.8
