Description Christian Boltz 2005-08-14 13:36:30 UTC
While installation, the scroll functions of synaptics touchpad (moving at the
right margin of the touchpad or pressing the scroll buttons below the
touchpad) misbehave:
- scrolling down is interpreted as right-click (context-menu appears)
- scrolling up is interpreted as left-click

Funnily, scrolling with my USB mouse works, so this must be an synaptics
issue.

Please, attach the YaST logs and output of
hwinfo --mouse

See http://www.opensuse.org/index.php/Submit_a_bug for details how to do it.

BTW: I also booted with my USB mouse/keyboard disconnected - it does not make
any difference.

the scrolling of the synaptics and alps pads are implemeted by a profile
applied by SaX during installation this profile mode is not available and
it's safer to no use the synaptics driver while installing. We have several
problems with the driver itself and the internal structures of synaptics
are a bit weird so I would suggest not to have that feature during
installation

mass reopening all SuSE Linux bugs that are set to REMIND+LATER to change the resolution to WONTFIX (adapting to new policy)

Closing old LATER+REMIND bugs as WONTFIX - if you still plan to work on it, feel free to reopen and set to ASSIGNED.

In case the report saw repeated reopen comments, it's due to bugzilla timing out on the huge request ;(
