Description Christian Boltz 2005-08-14 13:47:06 UTC
Just a cosmetical issue:

After entering the passphrase for an encrypted partition, verbose boot
messages are displayed.

Is it possible to switch back to the boot splash? (Or, eben better, create a
"nice" passphrase dialog?)
Comment 1 Dr. Werner Fink 2005-08-16 09:19:20 UTC
Sorry but if you want to use the console stuff, the messages
should be in a well order and visible. A further interface
between losetup and the boot splash could be unsecure.

An extension with the help of the `-p' option of the
losetup could be an option for the splash interface
for the next release
Comment 2 Michael Schröder 2005-08-16 10:12:27 UTC
Just do 'cat /proc/splash' and check if it is in silent mode. Do the same
after losetup. If it has dropped out of silent mode, do 'echo silent
> /proc/splash'
Comment 3 Dr. Werner Fink 2005-08-16 10:47:25 UTC
Done, nevertheless, there is no interface for a passphrase/password
interface usable with the splash.
