Description Petr Mladek 2005-08-15 17:43:06 UTC
Hi Stefan,

I have checked the package selectio for missing (new) OpenOffice_org
localizations and dictionaries. I prepared two patches. The first one adds
entries for languages that were already used somewhere in the selectio package
(there already are packages in a selection for these languages). The second one
adds entries for languages that were not used in any other selection (this is
the first special selection for such languages).

The result is that all OOo localizations are in a selection but not all myspell
dictionaries are in a selection. This is because I added dictionaries just for
languages that are more supported by SUSE. This means that we either have a
related OOo localization or we have another packages localized to this language.
For example, we have Malay localization of WindowMaker, xmms, coreutils, ..., so
I created a selection for myspell-malay. But we do not have any package
localized into Kurdish, so I did not created a selection for myspell-kurdish.

I am not sure what with the dictionaries like myspell-australian,
myspell-austrian, or myspell-nswiss that are derived from other languages
(usually English, German)? Should we create extra selection for such languages or ?

Finally, I found that myspell-american and myspell-british are repeated in each,
selection/lang_add/OFFICE/* selection. I would move these entries to
selection/data/OFFICE. It is correct because these dictioanries are
required by the main package OpenOffice_org and it is in selection/data/OFFICE.

What do you think about it?

Could you update the selectio package? (I could do it myself if you approve the
changes)

Thanks. I'll apply your patches. Some comments below.

I vote against a (new) language selection.

I'll do so.
