Description Max Lin 2017-07-12 11:52:48 UTC
I've tested this in the staging project, I hot-patched yast2-slide-show then all files are located at /usr/lib/skelcd/CD1 for new product builder, since DATADIR is obsoleted already then new product builder doesn't have process those files. you can find testdvd build log at https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log/openSUSE:Factory:Staging:J/Test-DVD-x86_64/images/x86_64

so the main question: is product builder still support slideshow? if so where is the right path it should be?

product-builder (like kiwi) is just extracting the files out of the meta package.

It is up to YaST to decide how these files shall get signed. We can't do this via the content file anymore obviously. I could add them to the CHECKSUMS file if this is wanted. But we need anyway to move them to another place (outside of suse/ directory), so it is up to the YaST people to define a new place.

Jiri, this looks like something for you.

The ohter option which we discussed is to put the slideshow to a package which is included in the repository. Has all advantages: No additional process with signing / checksumming, can be adjusted via maintenance update etc.

I believe that this is a reasonable appeoach, but the implementation in the installer is not yet done.

Looks like SLE 15 doesn't ship with a slide show, so we won't have it for Leap either.
