Description peter czanik 2005-08-16 14:14:53 UTC
If there is a FreeBSD partition, YaST is unable to partition during
installation. It's not even possible to use fdisk from rescue, and use the
prepared Linux partition, as YaST shows garbage in the partitioner.
I deleted, FreeBSD from my test machine, installed beta1, and reinstalled
FreeBSD, and now I get the same message, when starting YaST. I will create an
attachement.

Please attach files below /var/log/YaST2
and the contents of /proc/partitions and output of "parted /dev/sda print"

Comment 5 Thomas Fehr 2005-08-17 13:33:35 UTC
Thanks, I fixed this now in libstorage.
Since I have no easy way to test this I would appreciate if you could test
if my fixe helps. I will attach a updated version of liby2storage please
copy it to /usr/lib/liby2storage.so.2.0.0 (be sure to keep the old version
as a backup). With the new library installed "yast2 disk" should work fine.

If there are still problems please reopen and attach new y2log files.

Alternately you may simply wait for beta#3 which will of course contain the fix.

Comment 7 peter czanik 2005-08-19 06:09:00 UTC
It seems to work fine. yast2 disk worked as exptected with the new lib. I'm
looking forward to beta3, as my primary machine has 2 FreeBSD's installed (I'm
beta testing FreeBSD 6.0 as well :) ).
Comment 8 Uri Sharf 2005-08-27 19:34:58 UTC
please see: [Bug 113521]
It's on a DesktopBSD machine as well, seems to run into some problems during mkinird
Comment 9 Thomas Fehr 2005-08-29 05:34:37 UTC
I had a look, but this is certainly not a problem with yast2-storage but
a problems with handling dynamic devices within initrd.
