Bugzilla – Bug 105432
SaX2 doesn't permitt to change the monitor geometry manually
Last modified: 2005-08-18 10:20:41 UTC
Since the installation couldn't find out my monitor (Philips 107E) I obtained wrong resolution and geometry. SaX2 prompted me to change the geometry manually but no changes where showed even after repeated tests (and the modification of my monitor definition). I'm even hitting bug #99082.
sorry but what do you expect me to do here ? no logs no detailed description how to reproduce ? things are mixed up as well ....... 1) your monitor wasn't detected. What does hwinfo --monitor tell you ? 2) please call sax2 -r from runlevel 3 and send me the file /var/log/SaX.log 3) perform your changes and save the configuration, now send me the written config file: /etc/X11/xorg.conf Thanks
Sorry. First bugs I'm filling. 1) hwinfo --monitor 21: None 00.0: 10000 Monitor [Created at fb.70] Unique ID: rdCR.EY_qmtb9YY0 Hardware Class: monitor Model: "Generic Monitor" Vendor: "Generic" Device: "Monitor" Resolution: 800x600@75Hz Driver Info #0: Max. Resolution: 800x600 Vert. Sync Range: 50-90 Hz Hor. Sync Range: 31-48 kHz Config Status: cfg=new, avail=yes, need=no, active=unknown 2 and 3) attachments on their way. Still sorry if the information provided are not enough. I'm quite new to this. Fabrizio
Created attachment 46442 [details] xorg.conf anfter changes via sax2
Created attachment 46443 [details] Sax2 log
Created attachment 46448 [details] Remade the test (with geometry changes)
no problem but you may imagine there are a lot of bugs ;) ok the first hwinfo showed me the monitor couldn't be detected which means no DDC information. The reason for this may be: 1) the cable if connected via BNC ? 2) the graphics card if the driver isn't able to read the information This is just for your information and some sort of bad luck ;)
ok I see this bug has been already fixed *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 105208 ***
